Pusher Centrifuge Configurations

HZZZ pusher centrifuges are available in three configurations: two-stage, three-stage, and conical-basket designs. The appropriate drum geometry and number of pusher stages are selected based on material characteristics, filtration performance, washing requirements and operating conditions.

The Operation of Pusher Centrifuge

The pusher centrifuge is an industrial centrifuge with relatively low speed designed for continual dewatering. The drum is supported by a wedge-wire screen operated by a single electric motor with variable speed inverter (VSD) control. The rotating drum is spun fast enough to provide the centrifugal force that forces separation.

The reciprocating pusher is driven by a hydraulic oil pump unit and moves back and forth, pushing settled solids from the outside drum to the front. As it pushes against the cake in front, the squeezing action drives out more liquid and enhances drying. The outcome is efficient dewatering and very dry solids, expelled by gravity through the solids discharge chute. The liquid phase flows continuously through the wedge wire screen and perforated drum and discharges by gravity through the liquid discharge chute.

The HZZZ pusher centrifuge drum can be made in a variety of materials of construction suitable for the purpose, including wear protection if abrasive materials are to be processed. Stroke length may be adjusted to suit the task, and rotation speed is regulated by the VSD; therefore, the centrifuge can be easily tuned to optimise dewatering for any application.

HZZZ designs and manufactures centrifugal separation equipment for industrial filtration, clarification, dewatering and multi-phase separation. Its pusher centrifuge, disc stack separator, decanter centrifuge, and screen scroll centrifuge platforms can be configured according to material properties, required throughput, separation targets and operating conditions.
